In the second half of 2009, the multinational High Readiness Force Headquarters of the 1(German/Netherlands) Corps provided more than 300 soldiers for the ISAF operation in Afghanistan.

The soldiers of 1(GE/NL)Corps were deployed to a lot of different mission areas in Afghanistan. Most of them were working in Headquarters ISAF in Kabul, others in Masar e Sharif, Kunduz (RC North), Kandahar and Uruzgan (RC South).

The main part turned back to Münster in the first months of 2010, but there are still soldiers of the 1(GE/NL) Corps on individual basis deployed in Afghanistan.
