Exercise Iron Sword in Norway was a large-scale, international deployment and Field Training Exercise. The overall aim of this exercise was to train the core of NRF-4 in operations such as show of force, Crisis-Response Operations, Counter-Terrorism, Support Operations and Non-combatant Evacuation Operations. Iron Sword was one of the largest NATO exercises in 2005.
